‘Sister Wives’ Kody Brown Shuts Down Communication With Janelle
Sister Wives Season 19 is off to a dramatic start. The relationships between Kody Brown and his wives are disintegrating. In a new preview clip, the future of the property at Coyote Pass comes into question, and Kody says he refuses to communicate with Janelle. Continue reading to see why.
Janelle Brown Says She’s Not In Communication With Kody
In a sneak peek of the September 22 episode of Sister Wives, Janelle Brown opened up about her relationship with Kody. As fans know, they are headed for divorce, but it is unclear as to what that means for the Coyote Pass property.
The clip shows Janelle and her daughter Maddie looking at a piece of property in Montana they want to buy together.
“Kody and I are not in communication,” she tells the producers. “Our relationship is over, but we both still live in Flagstaff. Yeah, there’s not been an official divorce. I don’t know how to get one, and I don’t need one.”
She proceeds to tell Maddie that she isn’t sure about how things will go with the Coyote Pass property in Flagstaff, Arizona. “It’s not paid off yet. The note is due in about six months,” she tells her daughter. “They keep asking your dad, and he’s like, ‘I’m not going to make a plan ’till blah.’”
The Truth About The Sister Wives Property
Then, the Sister Wives star breaks down how the property has been divided among Kody Brown’s marriages.
“So the first two-acre lot right now is Kody and I. The second two-acre lot is Kody and Robyn. The third is a four-acre lot and it’s Meri, myself and Kody,” she explains as a diagram of the properties is shown on screen. “And then, the five-acre lot, because Christine quit, claimed it is Kody and Robyn. Robyn’s got her house. Christine had her house. Meri has built a business, but she didn’t use family money. She built that herself.”
“So, [Meri] and I are both like this represents basically the only asset we would be taking from the marriage,” Janelle concludes. However, she isn’t able to get any information from her estranged husband about the future of the property.
During their conversation, Maddie asks her mom what will happen if the note isn’t paid. Janelle Brown reveals that the seller can take back the entire piece of land, but she hopes that her ex will pay it off.
Looking for some reassurance, she asks, “I’m sure your dad’s going to want to pay that off, right?” Maddie doesn’t look so sure.
In a confessional, Janelle breaks down the situation’s finances. The Sister Wives family will lose the entire property if the note isn’t paid. “The rest of our property is collateral for the note. It’s insane to me that Kody is not taking this more seriously,” she says.
Kody says that Janelle frequently asks him about the property, but states that he no longer trusts her so he doesn’t give her any details.
“We will pay off the property when the time comes and I’m not giving you any details about what I’m doing or whatever because I’m tired of disclosing information that goes through the gossip mill of our broken family,” he tells the cameras.
New episodes of Sister Wives air on Sundays at 10 p.m. EST on TLC.
