Kody Brown Opens Up About Christine’s New Relationship
Christine and Kody Brown called it quits on their relationship in November of 2021 after 25 years together. She was the first of the wives to leave and was soon followed by Janelle and then Meri Brown.
While the family falling apart was hard for everyone, many Sister Wives fans assumed that Kody Brown would be bitter once his exes started to move on. The TLC star told People that the upcoming season will show Christine’s relationship with David Woolley unfold.
“Christine falls in love,” Kody told the publication in relation to Season 19. “And I got to tell you, it’s been a real relief because I literally watch the show now and hope it’s more about Christine and David than about the rest of us, because they’re falling in love, and it’s cute.”
Kody went out to call Christine’s new husband “a little shy,” but he said that being able to see their relationship evolve was a “fun experience.”
“It’s just cute. It’s fun. It’s fun watching them fall in love,” Kody says.
The Sister Wives star went on to admit that he and Christine were “better friends” than “lovers.” He continued, “I’m very glad she’s had this experience. And so me watching it, voyeuristically is…. It’s going to be fun. You’re going to really enjoy watching Christine fall in love and get silly and dumb the way lovers become.”
Sister Wives Season 19 Will Have ‘Plenty Of Drama’
That said, Kody Brown promised that there will be “plenty of drama” in Season 19. There won’t be a lot of “fluff.” After all, there has been a lot that has happened in the Brown family since viewers last saw them on television.
He notes, though, that there’s “plenty of drama” on display in the upcoming season, too. “It’s not all going to be fluff.”
Christine Brown went public with her relationship with David Woolley in February 2023. They got engaged in April and the couple tied the knot in October 2023. In a separate interview with People, Christine said that David is a “phenomenal person to the core.”
On top of that, things with David are “simple,” compared to what she experienced with Kody.
“It’s really simple. It’s a simple, simple life. And I didn’t know I could have a simple life with somebody,” the Sister Wives star said. “I come with a lot of complications, and he loves me — and that’s the best thing of all.”
Season 19 of Sister Wives premieres on Sunday, September 15 at 10 p.m. EST on TLC.
