‘Sister Wives’ Star Janelle Brown Unaware Of Garrison’s Mental Health
Sister Wives star Janelle Brown has opened up about her son Garrison who passed away from suicide at the age of 25. Now, the TLC star is admitting that she was unaware of any mental health issues that her son might have been experiencing. And, that made his death all the more shocking.
Garrison Brown Was Estranged From Kody Brown
When fans saw Garrison clash with Kody over his COVID-19 social distancing rules, it wasn’t a spat that passed over. Things got worse and the Christmas gift exchange was the last straw. Of course, Kody was never going to forgive Garrison for calling his favorite wife, Robyn direct and giving her a piece of his mind.
Unfortunately, at the time of his death in March, Janelle Brown’s son was thought to still not be reconciled with his father. However, he got a lot of love from his siblings and his mom. Garrison Brown had friends and colleagues in the National Guard as well. So, he wasn’t all alone in the world. And, his mom was certainly not expecting that her boy might consider taking his own life.
Janelle Brown Was Not Aware Of Metal Health Issues
Recently, the former second wife of Kody Brown spoke with People Magazine about her shock over Garrison’s death. She explained that she never saw any side of her son that indicated poor mental health. She added:
He had a career path that he was excited about. He had a life, he had friends…In fact, he was very funny, very upbeat…We just had no idea that he was in that place…he didn’t ever express any kind of extreme sad feelings.
Janelle Brown told the outlet that before Garrison passed away, he was in touch with his family. Additionally, he was excited about his “career” direction. Then, the Sister Wives star recalled that he adopted a cat. So, suicide was the last thing on her mind. Therefore, these days, her entire family now takes mental health extremely seriously.
Alcohol Played A Part
Reports arrived that Garrison Brown had elevated alcohol levels when he passed away. In fact, they were so high that he was close to fatal alcohol poisoning. His mom acknowledged the part that alcohol might have played in his decision to end his life.
TLC fans expect that the 19th season of the TLC show will cover the death of Garrison Brown. How that will happen is not known yet. But mostly, fans want some rort of sweet tribute rather than the trauma of the family dealing with the sad news.
