Sister Wives’ Kody & Robyn Brown to sell $1.6m mansion because they can ‘no longer afford it’ after family ‘fell apart’
SISTER Wives star Kody Brown and his wife, Robyn, have decided to sell their $1.6 million home in Flagstaff, Arizona.
A source exclusively revealed to The U.S. Sun that the TLC stars could “no longer afford it” because of how expensive the property has gotten.
On August 29, the couple unexpectedly listed their 4,476-square-foot mansion for $1,650,000.
“Kody and Robyn listed their home because it’s become a huge expense that they no longer can afford, especially now with the family torn apart,” the insider dished.
The secluded home is situated on a two-acre lot, but as Sister Wives fans are aware, Kody, 55, and Robyn, 45, also own the nearby Coyote Pass, which has over five acres — and reportedly remains untouched.
The source continued, “They haven’t done any work on Coyote Pass because of how much it will cost to build and, of course, stopped their plans altogether once the wives left.”
Coyote Pass — four parcels of land that was purchased in 2018 for $820k — was supposed to be split into five parcels, so that the patriarch and his now three ex-wives Meri, 53, Janelle, 55, Christine, 52, and his last standing wife Robyn, could build homes.
Christine, who has moved on with husband David Woolley, sold her Coyote Pass property to Kody and Robyn for $10 in July 2022.
Janelle and Meri still own their parcels, The U.S. Sun can confirm.
As previewed in the trailer for the upcoming season, the massive bleak plot of land has become a financial burden for Janelle.
“We’ve gotta pay it off and he’s not talking to me about it, so I think I’m gonna have to lawyer up.”
TAX ISSUES
The five-bedroom, four-bathroom home, which was purchased in September 2019 for $890k, has gone through major renovations over the years.
The U.S. Sun last reported that in December 2023, Kody applied for permits for projects that presumably would take six months to complete (the permits were in effect until June 2024).
According to land records, the reality stars planned on upgrading panels, mechanical equipment, and their water heater. They also planned on adding yard lines, re-roofing, and demolishing some parts of the home which weren’t specified at the time.
On top of the maintenance of the mansion, the property taxes for the $1.6 million home and the parcels of Coyote Pass cost thousands of dollars.

‘MORE DISTANT THAN EVER’
The U.S. Sun previously reported Kody and Robyn have been having marital problems.
According to the family insider, they’re now having disagreements about their next move.
A source claimed, “Kody and Robyn want to be close to their children in Arizona, but they are considering a big move. Kody wants to be back in Vegas for his gun business and Robyn is considering moving back to Utah where the family used to live and where Christine and Meri live now.
“They feel more distant than ever from the kids and hope that changes in the future by possibly moving closer to them.”
It’s no secret that the couple has been estranged from Meri, Christine, and Janelle since they decided to go their separate ways following their separation from Kody.
Some of the ex-wives’ kids have also become estranged from their father, as shown in past episodes of Sister Wives.
Kody and Robyn have five kids of their own – three of whom he adopted from Robyn’s first marriage (Dayton, 24, Aurora, 22, and Breanna, 19) and two they welcomed on their own, Solomon, 12, and Ariella, 8.
A source revealed of the couple’s marriage, “Robyn and Kody are not doing well. They have been very unhappy.
“I mean, they’ve been unhappy since everything fell apart, but even more so now, it’s getting worse.”
NEW SEASON, NEW DRAMA
The trailer for season 19 even showed the pair getting into an argument.
On the verge of breaking down, Robyn told Kody, “I’m having a hard time feeling like [I’m] losing respect for you.”
Kody shouted back, “Robyn, I can’t even get it straight with you right now!”
The new season premieres on Sunday, September 15, at 10 pm Eastern on TLC.
