‘Sister Wives’ Fans Criticize Kody Brown’s Sentimental Money Pit
Undeniably, Kody Brown often taps into his feelings when it comes to his life. He tends to talk about passion and connection to the people around him. However, some people believe some of his sentiments are misguided. Recently, Sister Wives fans harshly criticized Kody Brown for his sentimental ways that contribute to an overwhelming money pit.
Kody Brown Is Very Sentimental
Over the years, Sister Wives fans have seen that Kody Brown liked to connect with his plural family with analogies and sage pearls of wisdom that he landed on along the way. As the patriarch of the family, he often imparts knowledge and guidance to his family. However, not all of his painted pictures were well received by the wives. At times, they even fell flat. Although it wasn’t always a “win” for Kody, his sentimentality was an attractive feature for his wives at one point. When he was thoughtful, kind, and giving, it was easier to connect with his deep feelings.
But over time, as the family began to unravel, many of his catchy sayings or nostalgic symbolism didn’t ring as true for several of the wives. Naturally, he continues to cling to some of his strong beliefs especially as he goes through losing people in his marriage. Now, fans see an embodiment of his emotions feeding into a financial money pit in his life.
Fans Pick Up On Extravagant Spending Habits
Recently, Sister Wives fans discovered that Robyn and Kody Brown are selling their mansion. While they have prioritized Robyn’s home, often even over the needs of the family, it is strange to see them let it go. On Reddit, one user points out something they noticed from the listing. They say, “Phoenix statue.” Then, they include a screenshot of a phoenix rising from the ashes in the kitchen. Next, they add a screengrab of a vendor selling the statue for $7900. Astonishingly, many people began to look closer at the items in the house for the photos of the sale. Much like the phoenix, there are multiple displays of frivolous spending throughout the house.
Likewise, another Reddit thread talks about the same statue saying, “Expensive Phoenix statue for Kody’s muse, Robyn, since ‘she rose from the ashes like a phoenix.’” The user was reminding fans of a sentimental moment when Kody designed personalized necklaces for all four of his wives.
Fans Criticize Kody Brown’s Sentimental Money Pit
During the thoughtful necklace exchange, Kody Brown took time to think of ways to show Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn Brown that he cared for them. However, he didn’t get acceptance from all the wives since Christine only liked half of her design. But, Janelle, Meri, and Robyn appreciated the gesture. When he gave Robyn her necklace, he offered a phoenix to tell the family how special she was for being a fighter who “rose from the ashes.” Now, viewers made the connection that Kody’s need for sentimentality is feeding the money pit of his and Robyn’s living style. Many people see where Robyn and Kody are spending extravagantly instead of investing in the family.
- Other fans make the connection with the necklace, “Wouldn’t doubt if Kody had it specially made like that necklace.”
- “For almost 8k it better actually rise from the ashes and fly away.”
Fans Notice Many Elaborate Furnishings
After seeing the furnishings in Robyn and Kody Brown’s house, many fans were critical of how they spent their money.
- One fan points out that they can buy expensive things, but not take care of Ysabel Brown. Saying, “But Isabel couldn’t have surgery.”
- “The listing notes that the house got a new roof three years ago, we know they replaced the heated driveway, and there’s snowboarding gear in the garage. But sure, make Savannah fill water tanks and don’t pay for Ysabel’s surgery 🙄.”
- “That is a hideous figure. Looks like someone scared the feathers off of a rooster.”
- Fans spot other expensive statues, “There’s at least 3 more items that are similar, seem to be from the same artist. a bear on the main bedroom dresser and two on the nightstand. so I’m guessing at least $20k on statues by this maker.”
- “No Effing way! $7000 for that! And there’s one in the bedroom too. So crazy.”
- “This looks like something you’d buy at that game store that pops up in the mall at Christmas time and sells pewter statues of wizards and dragons along with Magick the Gathering cards and D&D games.”
- “You just described one of the bedrooms in their basement. That was an insane house tour 😵💫 no f*cking words for the amount of stupid expensive crap everywhere!”
Robyn And Kody Brown Are On Blast For Using Money Selfishly
Not only are fans insulting the decor that Robyn and Kody Brown chose, but they are angry that it is at the expense of valuing the people Kody has been so sentimental about in the past.
- “I genuinely don’t know how Kody sleeps at night knowing Jenelle worked for the family her entire adult life, used her inheritance money to buy the original home we met them in, cashed out her 401k to help get everyone in the Vegas homes and all she wanted in return was a tiny loft that sat above a garage on Coyote Pass to call her own. But he wouldn’t even give her that! Instead, he let his lazy new wife buy tacky knickknacks to put inside of their million dollar home, tens of thousands worth of ugly jewelry and didn’t they just install a heated drive way? All while Jenelle can’t even get a drive way!”
