Sister Wives star Meri Brown is revealing how her family is doing now, almost six months after Garrison Brown’s sudden death. Meri became Kody Brown’s first wife when they legally married in 1990. They started living in a plural marriage after Janelle Brown became the first sister wife with her spiritual marriage to Kody. Garrison was introduced to fans in season 1 in 2010, along with his mother Janelle, father Kody, and Kody’s other wives, Meri, Christine, and Robyn Brown. Garrison was 25 years old when he was found dead at his home in Flagstaff, Arizona in March 2024.

Meri Brown from Sister Wives is talking about how Janelle Brown and Kody Brown’s son Garrison Brown’s untimely death brought their estranged family together.

Meri was featured on a recent episode of The Sarah Fraser Show (via People) where she briefly discussed her grieving process and the fate of the Brown family following Garrison’s demise. “We definitely have had our moments where we’ve been together as a family,” Meri shared while adding how they’ve been celebrating Garrison’s life and reconnecting with each other, especially people that maybe don’t see each other “all the time.” Meri added it was because they are living “all over the place” and their older kids have been living their own lives “for many years.”i Brown Reveals Why She Recently Cried Over Garrison

Meri believes that coming back and seeing each other has been helping them heal their relationships “a little bit.” She thinks seeing the process has been “kind of cool.” Still, all the family members have been grieving in their own, unique ways. Meri feels that grief is a “very, very individual thing” that changes on the daily. She sometimes feels “just fine” and sometimes she starts crying when she comes across something that reminds her of Garrison. It could be something like Garrison’s phone number on her phone that she hasn’t deleted yet.

Meri shared how she was looking at Garrison’s phone number just a week ago, which brought tears to her eyes.

Meri has been told that the hole that one feels inside them when someone leaves eventually does get filled “back up.” However, she’s starting to feel that it isn’t true. Meri has been trying to figure out how to navigate living without needing to fill that void. “I think every one of us in the family feels it at a different level at different times,” Meri admitted. Meri and Kody only had one child together.

Garrison was like a son to her. Sister Wives fans have also noticed how Meri has been getting skinnier as she deals with his loss. Meri could be eating less than usual because she’s grieving. She’s been using social media to commemorate his life and posting throwback photos with Garrison to share her condolences. Some critics have been upset with Meri using social media to mourn Garrison’s death. However, her fans are also getting to see Meri’s endearing and loving side, which they rarely came across on Sister Wives.
