GH Alum Nicholas Chavez Lands Another Huge Role

News broke in June 2023 that General Hospital star Nicholas Chavez had been cast in Season 2 of Ryan Murphy’s Monsters anthology series on Netflix. Season 1 detailed the crimes and conviction of cannibal Jeffrey Dahmer. Season 2 explores brothers Lyle and Erik Menedez murdering their wealthy parents in 1989. The case has captivated the nation for over three decades.

What was first called a leave of absence from the daytime soap opera quickly became a total exit after Nicholas Chavez’s star continued to rise.

The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story Cast Details

Nicholas Chavez joined General Hospital as Spencer Cassadine in 2021. He won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Performer in 2022. Spencer was presumed dead after plunging into the Seine in late January on the daytime sudser. The show has yet to recast the role.

The actor plays Lyle Menendez in the upcoming Netflix series. Cooper Koch takes on the role of Lyle’s brother, Erik. After two trials, both men were eventually convicted of murdering their parents. They are currently in the process of appealing the convictions after presenting new evidence of their innocence.

Several veteran actors round out the star-studded cast. Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny play Lyle and Erik’s parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez.
