General Hospital’s Sasha May Be About to Strike It Rich in the Mom Department: Is She Really a [Spoiler]?!?
The character, veteran viewers will recall, was a frontburner mainstay in the mid-1980s. Celia was a distant cousin of the late Edward’s who got caught up in a love triangle with his surprise son, rascally Jimmy Lee Holt, and straight-laced Dr. Grant Putnam, who was at one point replaced by a Russian-spy doppelgänger. In 1986, Celia took her leave of Port Charles. But she did so with a pulse, so she could always come back.
Sherilyn Wolter, who played the part, recently told TV Insider that if General Hospital decided to make Celia Sasha’s mother, “I’d be there!”
As it is, the actress, an attendee at the 40th-anniversary reunion of the Santa Barbara cast, has already noticed that she looks a lot like Sofia Mattsson, who plays Sasha. “I see [a] resemblance,” Wolter said. So do we. And if it turned out that Sasha was, in fact, a Quartermaine, she could stop working for the family and take her rightful place in it.
