Cameron Mathison fans are still reeling at Wednesday’s announcement that he and Vanessa, his wife of 22 years have split. However, just a week ago, the Murder She Baked alum revealed some information that the two were not on the same page. Mathison shared that Vanessa was in an “exploratory phase.”

General Hospital fans are still reeling over Cameron Mathison and Vanessa Mathison’s shocking split. However, just a week ago, he gave an exclusive interview with US Magazine. In that interview, he revealed that Vanessa was now in an “exploratory phase.” What did he mean?
In the interview, the Beat The Bridge host was discussing his life now that they were empty nesters. Cameron shared, “It’s like a new chapter for everybody in our life. We’re just trying to figure it all out.”
Referring to Vanessa, he shared, “But she is on a self-exploratory kind of phase right now, doing a lot of really cool stuff for her. And she’s learned the bass and she’s back to her modeling days and she’s traveling and doing things, and I’m really encouraging that. And yeah, we’re just trying to figure it all out.
When asked about his long marriage, Cameron shared that he felt it was “good to care about them and their interests.” Most of all, he shared that they “really cherished each other.” Most of all, he revealed that putting others first was a “beautiful way to live.”
Couple Met Modeling, Was Married 22 Years
Cameron Mathison and Vanessa Mathison announced on Wednesday, on social media that “After 22 years of marriage, we have made the difficult decision to part ways.” They also revealed that their focus was on son Lucas, 21, and daughter Leila, 18, was their “highest priority.”
Mathison and his children were recently in Arizona on a vacation without Vanessa. He shared that he was enjoying this time with hits “two loves” before they went off to continue their own education. Lucas was headed to London for the Foundation Program at Central St. Martin Fashion Design. As for Leila, she was headed out to Paris to the American University to study psychology.
Cameron and Vanessa met in 1998. They had their first date a year later and then married in 2002.
Meanwhile, Cameron is filming his new Christmas movie with Candace Cameron Bure called Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells. This is their first time starring together. This Great American Family movie will continue filming into early August and will be part of the Great American Christmas programming.
