Fans Debunk Kody Brown’s ‘Shy’ Narrative For ‘Favorite Wife’
Recently, Sister Wives star, Robyn Brown has been reinforcing the ideology that she is shy. But many fans aren’t buying it. Now fans are debunking Kody Brown’s belief that his “favorite wife” is truly a reserved person.
Kody Brown Defend Robyn To The End
Undoubtedly, Season 19 of Sister Wives seems to be trying to help Robyn Brown escape villainhood. In several of the episodes, TLC highlights her caring about the family and selflessly helping Mykelti Brown Padron with the twins. Likewise, she is advocating for Kody Brown to talk to his estranged children. Furthermore, she talks about not being made for TV because she is introverted, but fans see blaring reasons why what she says doesn’t add up. But Kody is all in with his wonderful wife who is loyal and kind. He just knows that she is far more reserved than his other wives and he will stand up for her every chance he gets. However, fans debunk the shy narrative he is amplifying on her behalf.

On Reddit one fan says, “Robyn Shy Brown.” Then, they add, “Does anyone buy that Robyn Brows is shy! She didn’t seem shy when she was kissing a married man in her early episodes! Or when she inserted herself in every couch interview spouting off polygamy as the family expert, or when she told everyone she spoke (for) Kody and wanted to be at counciling sessions with the og wives or mediate with the children and Kody. But now.. she’s shy? I wonder if she just can’t trust what comes out of her mouth so has decided to shut it for once.”
- Another fan adds, “Feel like Robyn is shy in the way she expects her hand to be held by Kody through everything. She needs to be ‘protected’ which comes across to Kody as ‘shy’ when it’s really just feigned helplessness for attention because everyone’s so *mean* to her.”
- “I have thought her claiming to be shy was weird for a while now. She is a walking contradiction though. Her memory of events, all the random polygamist tidbits, etc. She can’t keep her stories straight and wants to try to support her narrative of things. Many Sister Wives fans find it unfathomable that Kody Brown’s favorite, Robyn, is timid since she openly allows reality TV in on many intimate parts of her life.

That is not shy acting.IF she was shy she would not have taken over the talking heads early on and insisting she knows polygamy the best over women who had lived it for 20 plus years at that point. But other fans see that Robyn Brown has Kody Brown fooled. While he is fighting her battles, she is playing the victim.

Likewise, fans think of many more examples of why Kody Brown is wrong for believing Robyn is innocent and quiet. Furthermore, they remember she enjoys the spotlight.
- “Shy is what Robyn wants to appear to be. Just like she’s the so -called ‘cheerleader’ for the whole family and such a ‘loving, giving person, always advocating for everyone else’. She’s the opposite of all of these things. And a shy person wouldn’t call Christine a liar about her own marriage, and a shy person wouldn’t tell Maddie what she can and can’t do, when she was new to the family. A shy person doesn’t come into an already established family, demanding equal time with Kody, before they’re even married. In fact, everything that Robyn has done, is something a shy person would NOT do.

Is It All An Act?
But a few Sister Wives fans truly believe Kody Brown is right and Robyn Brown could be shy. Perhaps not in the sense of being a recluse, but she is struggling to fit in.
- “I think this might be it. I find a lot of people in the real world use shy to mean not outgoing or not an extrovert or to be standoffish. I’d say people also confuse shy and quiet too, but seems like Robyn never shuts her mouth, so that can’t be it!”
- “I think Robyn is who Kody wants her to be and that’s quiet and cute. I’m sorry. I don’t see her as a mastermind. I see her as incredibly isolated and for sure shy. She lacks self confidence.”
- “I think she realizes how she is looking to the public eye and that she’s not well liked. This is making her keep quiet. Hence the whole staged heated argument between Kody and Robyn. She can’t say anything nice so she doesn’t say anything at all. Also I was also very annoyed she was always acting like the expert in her religion and polygamy when she’s barely lived a polygamist life. Christine has strong family roots in the church. Meri seems to be the most loyal to her faith given that she did a proper divorce and you can expect that Janelle did a whole lot of research before she hopped on the Polyg train.”
