In the next episode of General Hospital, it’s not too late for Sam to change her mind about donating part of her liver to boyfriend Dante’s ex-wife, Lulu — and she’d have every reason to do so. Turns out, even with the transplant, a blood clot has lessened Lulu’s odds of survival from slim to… well, even slimmer. (Read the recap.)

Desperate, in the October 21 episode, Lucky recruited reluctant pal Isaiah to scrub in and perform not only the surgery but a miracle. But that doesn’t mean that Sam has to go along with this Hail Mary play. In fact, in the latest preview, she’s surprised to discover that Isaiah will now be performing the operation.

Given all that Sam has to live for — her kids, her relationship, her sisters, her whole future — she’d have no choice but to rethink whether she wants to go through with the donation. If there’s almost no chance of Lulu pulling through, what’s the point of Sam risking her life and health?

Of course, given the sneak peek we got at what comes later (see the photo here), we know that Sam ultimately decides that she can’t back out. In the Thursday, Oct. 24, episode, her friends and family gather round as she prepares to go under the knife. (Spoilers here.) As the week ends, mom Alexis is awaiting news.
