‘GH’ Johnny Wactor’s Mom Disgusted Over Potential Sentence
Johnny Wactor’s mother is reportedly devastated over the potential sentence for one of the suspects involved in her son’s murder. She said that she doesn’t believe the suspect has any remorse for what happened or his alleged role in the crime. Here is what has been decided by the courts.
Scarlett Wactor Doesn’t Think Suspect Has Remorse
Johnny Wactor, 37, was fatally shot on May 25. He was walking back to his car with a coworker after he wrapped up his shift at a local bar. Authorities said the suspects had the General Hospital star‘s car “raised up with a floor jack and were in the process of stealing the catalytic converter.”
Without provocation, one of the suspects pulled out a gun and Johnny stepped in between them and his colleague.
One of the suspects who was allegedly involved in the murder of the General Hospital star is looking at a five-year sentence. The late actor’s mom, Scarlett Wactor told TMZ that she doesn’t think he has any remorse for his role in the crime.
Leonel Guitierrez, 18, pleaded guilty to attempted robbery as well as grand theft charges. Scarlett says that he was only charged with whatever they could pin on him for his alleged participation. However, she doesn’t think that is good enough.
When it’s all said and done, Johnny Wactor’s mom thinks Leonel Guitierrez will only serve one to two years behind bars due to overcrowding in prisons. Then he will be free and get to live a full life, something he stole from her son.
She also added that she doesn’t believe he had any remorse. Scarlett is convinced the guilty plea he submitted was simply an effort to avoid any other possible charges from the murder case. Additionally, she believes he will continue committing crimes once he is released. After all, he was on probation when he was arrested for his involvement in Johnny’s murder.
Johnny Wactor’s Mom Will Appear At Sentencing Hearing
While she is frustrated, Scarlett informed TMZ that she plans to be at the 18-year-old’s sentencing hearing. She wants to stare him down while she delivers a victim impact statement.
Scarlett, along with several of Johnny Wactor’s friends and family, are also pushing to get “Johnny’s Law” passed in the state of California. This law will focus on penalizing probation violators. It will also push for felony murder charges for anyone involved in a deadly crime, whether they pulled the trigger or not.
The other three suspects who were arrested in relation to Johnny Wactor’s murder have all pled not guilty. They are scheduled to appear in court again next month.
Leonel Guitierrez was the only person of the bunch to plead guilty. He was released on a $120,000 bond and is expected to receive his sentence on November 1.
