‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) has an alibi, albeit it’s not a very convincing one, for the night he murdered John “Jagger” Cates (Adam Harrington).

Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) has agreed to help cover for Sonny by allowing him to say that he was bedding his ex-wife while the murder was taking place.

Of course, Anna is too smart to believe this, but new evidence may emerge that will point the finger directly at Sonny’s daughter, Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi).

Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst), who’s always been a pain in the you know what, basically forced Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) to go with him to the PCPD and tell the police they saw Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) tossing a gun over the footbridge.

Despite Sonny being the most likely culprit, for now, his alibi will protect him as the police consider Alexis as the potential killer.

Agent Cates was threatening to put Kristina in prison for the “attempted murder” of Ava Jerome (Maura West) despite her crashing through the window at the Metro Court and losing her baby.

Alexis thinks Kristina may have killed Cates because she had Sonny’s gun in her possession. She dumped the gun to protect her daughter.

Sonny doesn’t realize it now, but he’s putting Kristina at risk because once the cops question her mom, Kristina will no doubt come forward and admit that she stole Sonny’s gun. She won’t let her mom take the fall when she knows her mom is innocent.

Kristina was visiting baby Adela/Irene’s grave at the time of the murder, and no one can confirm that she was there. Kristina could become the prime suspect without a solid alibi and no witness to back up her story.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sonny Won’t Let Kristina Take The Fall

Anna won’t want to arrest Kristina, not after the hell she’s been through, but with Sonny having an “alibi,” she may have no choice.

Sonny may then, in turn, have no choice but to come forward and confess to the murder of Agent Cates. He would never let his daughter pay for a crime he committed.

Anna will find out who killed him. She’s on a mission to prove she deserves that badge as police commissioner. And no matter how despicable Cates was, he was still a Federal Agent. She won’t be willing to let that go.

Sonny would probably allow Alexis to take her chances with Killer Miller (aka Diane Miller, played by Carolyn Hennessy), but his daughter is a whole other story. Sonny would rather kill himself than hurt his children.

That being said, it would be a significant mess for Sonny to have to admit he’s the killer since the police would also know that Carly lied to keep him from facing murder charges. Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), who also lied to the police, would be culpable. It would be a difficult situation for everyone.

On the other hand, since the gun that killed Cates wasn’t the gun in Kristina’s possession, the police will know the gun tossed into the river wasn’t the same gun. Hopefully, Kristina will not suffer any more than she already has.
