TV insider is reporting that Hearst is set to report to the set to begin filming the week of July 29 and his scenes are scheduled to air the week of Aug. 19, though there has been no indication of just how long his visit will be.

Hearst made his daytime debut back in 1989 as Scotty Banning on Days of Our Lives, then enjoyed a lengthy run as Alan-Michael Spaulding on Guiding Light before playing Matt Clark on The Young & the Restless, and Whip Jones on The Bold & The Beautiful. The actor originated the role of Ric Lansing on GH back in 2002, and after his 2009 exit, reprised the role of Sonny’s half-brother again from 2014-16. During his daytime career, he has earned numerous Daytime Emmy Award nominations, winning Younger Actor in 1991 for GL, and Supporting Actor in 2004 and 2007 for GH.

GH Ric Molly

With Ric’s daughter, Molly, currently awaiting the birth of her and TJ’s baby via surrogate Kristina, there’s already been plenty of drama. “I’ve been trying to catch up and see what’s happening and I see that there’s a situation where Kristina is being a surrogate for Molly,” Hearst reported. “And while I don’t know what that turns into, I have a feeling there’s going to be some friction by virtue of the fact that one daughter is parented by Alexis and Sonny and the other daughter is parented by Alexis and Ric. That alone is enough to create a mad amount of drama of who’s going to side with who. And it’s going to be entertaining.”

While Hearst didn’t reveal too much of the storyline that had him happily accept the offer to come back to GH, he teased: “I kind of look at it as, ‘Daddy’s home and here to take care of his daughter and anything that entails.’” So don’t miss a minute of the drama coming up!
