‘WHAT WENT WRONG?’ Sister Wives’ season 19 will be ‘dark’ after Garrison Brown’s suicide as filming will focus on family’s ‘guilt’
SISTER Wives’ new season will portray a different side of Kody Brown, his wife Robyn and his three exes following the tragic news of Garrison Brown’s death, The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal.
Sister Wives fans are curious to know what will happen next after it was revealed that Garrison, Kody and Janelle’s son, died at 25 years old by suicide early last month.
Now, a source close to the family has shed light on what fans can expect for season 19 of the hit TLC show.
“It’s going to be darker because they’re going to try to work through, ‘Why did this happen?’
“How could this have possibly happened when [Janelle and her children] are such a strong family?'” a source revealed exclusively to The U.S. Sun.
Apart from Garrison, Janelle is close to her other children, whom she shares with her ex Kody – Logan, 29, Maddie, 28, Hunter, 27, Gabe, 22, and Savanah, 19.
BREAKING IT DOWN
“They’re going to start breaking each other down a bit to figure out where the mistake happened,” the source continued.
“Something went wrong somewhere, so it’s like, ‘What went wrong?’
“So, they’re going to dive into the problems of the family and how to fix them moving forward.
“This happens in most families. They think they’re going to take it and run with it… No, they’re just getting ready.”
The source insinuated, “Everyone spends their time blaming each other – that’s kind of what Robyn did when Kody’s wives left him.”
Janelle, 54, split from Kody, 55, in December 2022, around the same time Meri, 53 – Kody’s first wife – decided to end their spiritual marriage.
Before this, Christine, 51, announced her separation from the father of 18 in November 2021 – she has since married her now-husband David Woolley as of October 2023.
Kody remains married to his “favorite” wife Robyn, 45.
FAMILY GUILT
The U.S. Sun previously reported that Garrison struggled with depression and had an alcohol addiction, according to the police report.
Janelle confessed to cops, per the report, that she “should have gotten Garrison help in the past.”
‘They’re going to dive into the problems of the family.”
Source To The U.S. Sun
“There’s a lot of guilt in the family right now. A lot of guilt,” a source shared with The U.S. Sun.
“Everyone’s feeling like they missed something. They’re not sure what they missed, but they’ve missed something as of recent months.”
A source told The U.S. Sun that Janelle was feeling “so angry and numb” following his death.
“I think right now she’s going to go, like, ‘What the heck happened? What did I do wrong?'” the source added.
Meanwhile, Kody, who was estranged from Garrison prior to his death, “has retreated entirely,” per the insider, and is “in a very dark place” and “really depressed.”
UP IN THE AIR?
Christine seemingly confirmed in November 2023 that Sister Wives would return for another season.
However, after the news of Garrison’s death, Christine’s daughter Mykelti told fans that she could only “assume” that there would be another season, but couldn’t “guarantee anything.”
After The U.S. Sun reported that cameras will be filming the aftermath of his tragic death, Garrison’s friends urged the show be canceled.
A source previously spilled, “The family is normally always filming – whether it’s actual cameras or on their phones.”
“As sad as it is, his unexpected death came during the timeline of filming,” the insider continued.
“I just don’t how far this will go and how deep the family will get.”
While Season 18 premiered in August of last year, no official announcements have been made yet by TLC about Season 19, and they did not respond to The U.S. Sun’s request for comment.
